It started with a simple frustration...

 

Two designers, Joseph and Jamal, friends and collaborators for over 30 years were searching for minimalist garden furniture that would stand the test of time.

What they found were planters and pots that looked good for a season but quickly faded or deformed then ended up in landfill. Neither Joseph nor Jamal were comfortable with planned obsolescence or the missed opportunity for showcasing durable classic design. Why would you want that in your garden?

So they began sketching. Not just planters, pots, chairs and tables, but ideas:

• How could furniture be both durable and beautiful?

• How could it celebrate outdoor living without damaging the very environment it was meant to be enjoyed in?

• How could design unite craftsmanship, elegance and responsibility?

Joseph and Jamal’s backgrounds, one in interior architecture, the other in product design engineering, turned out to be the perfect partnership. The two friends used their skill sets to test many of the existing products on the market. What they found was these streamlined, industrial looking planters and pots were not in fact expertly manufactured, neither did they stand the test of time. The materials they were formed from, were sub-standard.

 

Step by step, Joseph and Jamal began evolving new prototypes in their workshop, testing them in their own gardens, refining every cut, joint and weld until form and function felt in harmony.

What began as a shared frustration, grew into a mission: to re-imagine outdoor living with furniture that encapsulates timeless design: high quality, handmade products forged with respect for the planet, by Cornish craftsmen properly rewarded for their skills.

Today, Joseph and Jamal’s collection is more than furniture, it is an invitation to enjoy the outdoors surrounded by designs that age gracefully, not wastefully. Clean-lined products designed to the highest finish, handmade in Cornwall.
